Program Overview
Life Values Through Martial Arts
For years the students at Dan Anderson Karate
School have learned strength, dedication, and manners. This coming year
we are expanding our curriculum to include Life Values Through Martial
Arts Training that will not only improve the body but also the mind.
Here are some of the topics students will learn in the upcoming months
with our comprehensive program for personal growth and character development:
chraractor development, leadership, concentration, integrity, etc.
This school's karate program is based on several
fundamental principles:
- Anyone can learn and benefit from karate training.
- Each individual has his/her own potential and speed of learning.
- Although karate is originally an oriental martial art, I am an American
teaching Americans.
- We feel that people are inherently good.
Our program reaches beyond the ordinary boundaries
of just self defense instruction and results in an overall betterment
of the student, both in and outside of the school.
Children's Program
At Dan Anderson Karate School, our children's program is second
to none. Although the ability to defend oneself is very important, there
are other aspects of development which we take pride in nurturing:
- Physically weak children become stronger.
- Respect
- Manners
- Concentration and focus - Children with short attention spans learn
to focus their attention.
- Hand/eye coordination - Uncoordinated children become agile.
- Social skills - Introverted children become more extroverted.
- Self control - Children who lose their tempers or cry easily learn
personal self discipline and to control their emotions better.
All the above results in Self Respect and Self
Confidence for your child.
By concentrating on the above aspects we have
earned the respect and reputation of having the strongest children's
program in the area. We have a strong commitment to the development
of today's youth. Our program helps our students perform well in other
sports and the strengthened ability to focus and concentrate help them
at school as well.
Our children's program is set up to strengthen
your child mentally, physically, and emotionally. As each child is different,
our stress with each child is individualized.

Youth
and Adult Programs
The Youth
and Adult programs have been a success in our school due to our uniquely
individualized approach. We take a student from where he or she is right
now and build them up from that point. Any student, no matter who, is
a potential Black Belt! Any student can make it. The training offers
exercise, stretching and conditioning as well as Self Defense. Each
student moves at his/her own pace in a friendly environment.

The Student Pledge
This is the Student Pledge which is to be learned
by every Child and Junior student in the school. It is a way for them
to look at their martial arts training and see what to gain from that
training.
- THERE IS NO FIRST OFFENSE IN KARATE. THIS MEANS I WILL NOT START
THE FIGHT.
- I WILL USE MY KARATE TO MAKE MYSELF BETTER. I WILL NOT USE IT TO
MAKE OTHERS WORSE.
- I WILL MAKE MY BODY STRONG THROUGH HARD TRAINING.
- I WILL MAKE MY MIND STRONG THROUGH CONCENTRATION.
- I HAVE SELF RESPECT BY KNOWING THAT I AM A GOOD PERSON.
- I WILL MAINTAIN MY SELF RESPECT BY HAVING THE STRENGTH TO MAKE THE
RIGHT DECISIONS.
- I WILL MAINTAIN MY SELF RESPECT BY HAVING THE STRENGTH TO KEEP MYSELF
FROM MAKING THE WRONG DECISIONS.
- I WILL BE A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A STUDENT OF DAN ANDERSON KARATE AND
BECOME AN EXCELLENT BLACK BELT.
