BEYOND KICK & PUNCH - The Complete Fighting
Principles Of American Freestyle Karate is the third book in the American
Freestyle Karate series and is the culmination of nearly 40 years of research.
This book strips away the complexities of free fighting and boils them down to
eight fundamental principles. As principles are universal, this book is not just
for the karate fighter but can be applied by any kind of fighter; from the kick/punch
artist to the grappler to the mixed martial artist to the weapons practitioner.
The information contained in this book can be utilized by all martial artists. This
book contains over 800 photos in over 110 pages , this book is packed with tons
of information that will be of aid to any martial artist, no matter his rank or
experience. JUST IN! REVIEWS FROM PURCHASERS! Hi
Dan I've read through your book, I wish I had this book 20 years ago , it
would of made sparring a lot easier to teach. I would highly recommend this book
to all teachers in the Martial Arts. Awesome writer and a teacher's teacher.
Thanks Lamon Dan Just finished up
reading both of your books. Again I wanted to write and tell you how great they
are. No matter what style one is, if you are looking to improve your skills, your
books are a must. Each month in my schools newsletter we have book of the month
and also webpage of the month, in May I will do a little article on both your
books and website, I will forward you when I am finish. Will tell all my students
to get your books. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. (another
letter) I received your new books on Thursday of this week. Thanks for sending
them out so quick. I have just finished reading Beyond Kick & Punch.
It is great. A book like this could only be written by someone with your expertise.
As you know I really enjoy all your books, they just keep getting better. What
I like so much about your books are they TEACH the reader to think and experiment
with the techniques. When I was reading Beyond Kick & Punch I visualize
myself sparring and doing the techniques. Please keep writing . There is nothing
out there like what you are doing, because again there are not many people who
have your skills and knowledge. I am going away this week on a business trip and
can't wait to start reading The Anatomy of Motion. Keep in touch and let
me know if you have anything new coming out. God bless Philip Ameris

Reviews | | A
lot of people can claim to have practiced the martial arts for many years, even
many decades, but few can claim legitimately to have studied for many years or
decades. There is a difference. Dans writing
reveals his years of dedicated study of karate and the Filipino stick fighting
arts. It shows what he has learned from reading and training with many other martial
art greats, champions, masters, professors and gurus. And his writing reveals
his sponge-like ability to absorb what he has learned from other veteran fighters
and to put that knowledge into action with his particular slant on it. Dan
and I began our karate training in the mid 1960s at the Oregon Karate Association.
While his journey in the fighting arts took him into the tournament ring where
he triumphed to become one of competitions all-time greats, my journey,
because of my time in a war zone and 25 years as a cop in a major city, has focused
on techniques, concepts and principles for street survival. Well, there is much
in Beyond Kick & Punch for the analytical street oriented fighter, too. This
is because fighting principles are fighting principles, whether the battle is
with fists, sticks, knives, guns or missiles. Dont
hesitate to get this book. Unlike other ones on your shelf, you will underline,
dog-ear, cover with Post-its, and reference Beyond Kick & Punch for years
to come. Loren W. Christensen

| Dan Anderson was one of sport
karates finest champions and instrutors. He was one of the most intelligent
technicians on the tournament circut. His books on American Freestyle Karate have
been a very great teaching aid in learning how to spar properly and to be a consistant
winner in competition. Dan will take you through a step-by-step learning process
that will help you develop the proper skills and abilities needed to win in the
ring. In the book Dan will demonstrate and explain many of the techniques and
strategies that made him a Champion and will make you one also. Steve

I can say, without a doubt, after reviewing his book
and having spoken with him by the hour, heres someone who not only has something
to say but has put it down on paper. And its worth reading. Its a
KEEPER! Whats of interest to the reader is Dan Andersons ability to
define himself by actually analyzing and describing how he did it. This is someone
who knows what hes talking about and can back it up, and has! What
he used, uses and does is in depth. This is not a technique book.
As he says in his book, you can get that from your instructor. How many ways can
you show a front kick? A front kick is a front kick. But to understand the when,
how, where, strategy of delivering a technique or predicting one, now that is
knowledge. His other were well worth reading. This one stands out on its
own and is something that any student, teacher and Master can keep, read and use. Prof.
